The Cubs have designated Ben Cowles for assignment as part of their latest personnel moves, following the club’s official confirmation of a new signing.
In a related development, Chicago announced the acquisition of right-handed pitcher Shelby Miller today. In conjunction with Miller’s arrival, Cowles, an infielder, was designated for assignment.
