Universal Studios Florida: Kung Fu Panda's Water Bucket Returns, But What's Missing? (2026)

Water Bucket Restored, But Several Props Removed in Universal Studios Florida’s Kung Fu Panda Play Area

The giant water-dumping bucket above the Kung Fu Training Camp, which drenches the arena below, has been brought back into service after nearly a year of being inactive. This prop is part of the Kung Fu Panda play zone in DreamWorks Land at Universal Studios Florida.

Location and function

The bucket sits atop an exterior structure near Po Live!, within a laundry-themed section of the area. At intervals, the bucket tilts forward, showering water across the ground and anyone unfortunate enough to be in its path. You can see the effect in action in the accompanying footage.

A year after the area opened, Kung Fu Training Camp underwent several adjustments and some effects were temporarily nonfunctional. One bamboo tower beneath the bucket has been missing since at least April of last year, replaced by a construction box. While the bucket is operable again, several other props were removed.

What changed

Previously, laundry pieces hung from the horizontal bamboo beam beneath the bucket. Fans placed atop the towers helped air-dry the laundry, and water cannons on the opposite side allowed guests to spray the clothes. The clothes and fan blades have since been removed, though the bamboo framework remains intact.

For reference, the area photo above shows the DreamWorks Land opening in summer 2024.

Background and context

Kung Fu Training Camp originated as a reimagining of the former Curious George Goes to Town play area, with the water bucket reusing an existing effect. Separately, the Shrek’s Swamp splash pad has been demolished and paved over; that attraction closed last September after only a brief period of operation.
